Clay Cookware, HOW IT'S MADE?

Using clay cookware is one of the most natural ways of cooking. Food usually does not overheat, all the juices stay together perfecting the flavors and the raw material used to make them is natural. The lead-safe high quality glazing becomes a glass-like inert protective material. The paint used to decorate the cookware are made of natural food-grade pigments protected by the glazing, which also make the cookware and bake ware easy to clean and non-stick.

Water, earth and fire are the three main elements in a clay cookware or bake ware. The last is the skills to shape the potteries out of a block of clay. Well, we could add your imagination to put the meal together also. Better than words, you can watch the following short videos showing how a round clay tureen or also called faitout is made. It looks simple, but it requires a lot of practice to become as good as these Master Potters and they well deserve the honest price we are paying for their beautiful and useful pieces of art.
