Clay Tureens with lid
Clay tureens are one of the most traditional French clay cookware. Used and manufactured the same way for centuries, they are the best in the industry when it comes to oven slow-cooking delicious meals and like all our clay cookware, they are 100% handcrafted with natural clay and beautifully hand-painted by French master potters.
Because they also look gorgeous, you do not have to transfer the food to another dish; simply bring it from the oven to your table. The thick wall and lid provide an even cooking and distribute the aroma throughout the food and will keep it warm and moist on your table while you enjoy the food. To keep more moisture while cooking, their special lid shape allows sealing the pot with a flour and water dough.
Our clay tureens are very durable pots that will last for generations with proper care. Until the middle of the 1900's, housewives would bring them full to the village baker and cook their meal in his oven after he was finished baking the bread for the day.
They are microwave oven safe (although they won't fit unless you have a large one) and dishwasher safe as well. The glass-like lead-safe glazing make them very easy to clean and protects the natural food-grade paint. Made in France.

Round clay faitout or tureen with lid
A faitout is a traditional clay, ceramic or cast iron casserole used to cook anything. In French, "fait tout" means “do everything” and our clay faitout are simply perfect for everyday simple meals or your elaborate family reunion dinner. Not to mention, they are beautiful.
The thick wall and lid evenly cook your food and keep it warm on your table while you enjoy it. Like all our clay cookware, our faitout are 100% professional handcrafted by French master potters and hand-decorated. Although our faitout really shine in the oven, they are microwavable and dishwasher safe.
These round clay faitouts, which we can also call a round tureen are great for soups, stews, chilies and any other juicy slow cooked meal.
Available in two sizes, the medium size serves 4 to 6 and the large size serves 6 to 12.

Oval clay faitout with lid
Our clay faitouts also come in a modern oval size. Because this shape is very difficult to manufacture, they are slightly more expensive than the round clay faitout for their size but they are our most popular item because they are so beautiful. Perfectly sized for a 2 to 4 servings meal, they can be used as a regular baker without the lid or as a tureen with the lid to keep more juices and aromas and for longer cooking time. The lid will keep your food warm while you eat.
Dimensions are 12 1/8 inches x 9 7/8 inches (exterior) and 7 1/2 inches 6 3/4 x 2 inches (interior), for a 1.8 qt volume. Made in France.
